Cornacchia World Cup is an male and female under 19 volleyball tournament that takes place every year in Pordenone at Easter and a number of sport clubs coming from all over the world take part to it.
The event’s history started in 1983 as a minor local tournament but nowadays it is often referred to as the junior world championship since a number of pro-league and National teams participate in the tournament. Also, it is one of the oldest volleybal tournments in the world and among the most expected and renowed event around Europa.
CESAF has always been close to volleyball since for a long period the CEO Mr. Diego Pol was a pro-league referee and the first in the region to have an international role. For this reason, the Company did not want to miss this remarkable sport event as we do believe that sport in a trasnversal union tool also capable to attract young and old with incredible levels of involment.
Being a main character of this event is very important for CESAF because it allows to get in touch with the audience and to share passions and interests.
Mr. Pol affirms “There is not point in denying that combining the name of my Company to this tournament entails show, satisfaction, smiles and returns in terms of image of course. Yet, this does not lessen the interests of my staff or mine in continuing to support such type of events because – now more than in the past and in consideration of its broadest meaning – sport has an extremely important role because it expresses a series of values such as: loyalty, fair play, sociality and team play”.
The tournament ended on April 22 and it certainly was an aggregeation moment that involved more than 2000 athlets as well as chaperones, parents and volleyball fans.
And now, we look forward to next year’s event.
